Written Statement

A Written Statement is a document that provides additional details about your item's authentication result. It includes information about the item, the authentication outcome, and a detailed explanation of the result.

Written statements are most commonly used for bank or payment disputes, especially when a bank or payment provider requests a written explanation instead of or in addition to an authentication certificate.

A Written Authentication Statement is available for orders that have received an Authentic or Fake result. It is not available for cancelled or UTV orders.

Once your authentication result has been delivered, you can request a statement directly from your LegitGrails account.

1. Open the order you need the statement for, go to the certificate section, scroll to the bottom, and select Add Statement.
   

   

2. You’ll then see a pop-up where you can submit your request.

   

3. Please note that a Written Authentication Statement is a paid add-on, so you’ll need to have enough balance in your LegitGrails account to place the request. It cost $25/25 LegitGrails Credits.

   After submitting your request, you’ll see an estimated timeframe for when the statement will be ready.
   

   

4. Statements are prepared manually by our team, so the actual completion time may be shorter or longer than the estimate depending on our current workload.

   Once your statement is ready, we’ll send the file to the email address associated with your LegitGrails account.

The statement contains:

• The item's title

• A detailed explanation of the authentication result.

• Four images of the item selected from the photos originally submitted with the order.
